The Contributions of New Americans in Arkansas
Date: August 3, 2016
While only about 5 percent of Arkansas’ residents are foreign-born, the state’s immigrant population has steadily increased over the past several decades. In 1990, Arkansas was home to fewer than 25,000 immigrants—a group that made up a mere 1.1 percent of the state’s population. By 2010, that figure had risen to 4.6 percent. It had climbed to 4.8 percent by 2014.
