The Twin Cities is one of the top U.S. metropolitan areas for highly skilled workers with the H-1B visa, according to a recent Brookings Institute Report. This is a visa allowing foreign workers who have at least a bachelors or graduate degree and special knowledge or skills to come work for a period of time.
Why is the demand so high here and in other metro areas you wouldn’t expect? How does this visa program actually help grow talent within the U.S.?
