A pathway to citizenship leads to the White House
Date: March 31, 2015
When I campaigned for a seat in the Arizona House of Representatives, I vowed to focus on helping local businesses thrive by creating jobs and a pro-growth environment.
In order to best deliver on that promise, Congress must address the broken immigration system with permanent solutions that foster economic growth.
Presidential executive orders in 2012 and 2014 caused immigration to become a partisan wedge-issue, prompting many Republicans to shift to hardline positions in the immigration debate.
However, Republicans eyeing the White House in 2016 should avoid pandering in the primary if they hope to remain competitive in the general election. The electorate is tired of rhetoric and expect solutions.
