Buffalo Rising: “Unite by Night”
Date: April 27, 2017
“Without change there is no innovation, creativity, or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage the change that is inevitable.” – William Pollard
Recently, a group of friends banded together to discuss the issues of racism, bias and discrimination that face this country (and this community). In turn, they ended coming up with an idea for an event that draws attention to the issue, while bringing people together to celebrate the diversity of Buffalo.
The event, called Unite by Night, is the culminating effort to create a better Buffalo (City of Good Neighbors) between Emily Burns Perryman (Trocaire College), James Neiler (Campus Labs), Nii Sowah (Northwestern Mutual), Samantha Wentlent (Ingram Micro) and Alisha Taggart-Powell (Janie’s Emporium), along with support from National Federation for Just Communities (NFJCWNY).
