Poll: Immigration isn’t top 2016 campaign issue for NC Hispanic voters
Date: December 5, 2014
North Carolina Hispanic voters surveyed in a recent poll say immigration will be less important than jobs when they pick a presidential candidate in 2016.
Partnership for a New American Economy – a coalition of business leaders and mayors founded by Michael Bloomberg and Rupert Murdoch – polled Hispanics in North Carolina and four other swing states this month as President Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration dominated the news.
Of the 220 people surveyed here, 71 percent said immigration is “very important” in who they vote for in 2016, and 26 percent said it’s somewhat important.
